Thule CD-10 10 mm super-premium passenger car snow chains are handmade in Italy and designed for fast installation and removal, as well as good traction on snow, ice and slush. They are constructed out of durable hardened manganese nickel steel alloy (MnNi) which ensures a long life of reliable use on the road, while the D-shaped links that make up its chain segments provide exceptional traction and more bite on snow and ice than most snow chains intended for small passenger vehicles. The D-shaped links of Thule CD-10 snow chains are arranged in an symmetrical diamond pattern. These patterns lay over tire treads allowing for multiple, but varied chain contacts with snow and ice as tires turn. Individual diamond patterns are connected along the tread by link segments and also to the external side chain and internal cable. Together these features allow Thule CD-10 to maintain a superior level of traction without impacting adjacent areas along the vehicle body.
Unlike traditionally mounted snow chains, Thule CD-10 10 mm snow chains are designed to be installed and removed without the need to move the car. This quick and easy process is aided by a simple color-coded connection system. Pattern chain segments are bordered on one edge by a flexible blue cable while on the opposite edge they are connected by a side chain with easily identified red components and an open section at its middle. To install slide the CD-10 -- blue cable pointing towards the car -- along the inner side of the tire. Once the open section of the pattern chain is centered around the tire slide it towards you and around the tire. Grasp both ends of the blue cable and connect them at the top inner edge of the tire. Join the two extreme ends of the pattern chain at the top outer edge of the tire using the red connector and red link of chain that sits opposite it. Close the lower opening by pulling the red hook connector of the tightening chain through the red ratcheting pulley. The exterior of the tightening chain is beaded with hard plastic and will hold tighter with each pull. Once sufficient tension around the tire has been achieved, pull the tightening chain through the red hook attached to the side chain to your left and stretch its elastic end to the opposite edge of the side chain and hook it into place. Drive a short distance before stopping to readjust the tightening chain for optimal tension. Optional nylon bumpers can be attached at chain touch points to protect alloy wheels and tires and loose links can be clamped down. An added benefit of Thule CD-10 10 mm snow chains is that they can be reversed along the tread of the tire, allowing for an extended product life. Installation accessories included: repair links that can be hammered shut or closed with pliers providing a emergency solution for broken or weak spots in a chain, a pair of nylon gloves to protect hands and a kneeling towel to help keep you dry during chain fitting.

Based on SCC's experience with other products in the "Z" family, Super Z6 has one very special quality: it will operate in less than half of the space required by most cable chains and tire chains. Super Z6 requires only 6mm (1/4") of sidewall clearance to operate. The diagonal pattern provides constant traction, aggressive starting, stopping, cornering and ensures compatibility on vehicles equipped with traction control and electronically monitored brake systems. Traction coils, made from alloy steel are more durable than conventional tire or cable chains. Most cars, trucks and SUV's manufactured since the late 80's will have special clearance requirements. Don't be fooled by the appearance of the tire positioning on your vehicle. Traction products not only have to fit the tire, but must also fit within the space provided around the tires. Most issues are hidden from view as they are behind the tire near braces, suspension parts, strut housings, splash guards and fuel and brake lines. More information should be located in the owner's manual under chains, traction devices, tires or similar heading. It is important to select a traction product that is compatible with the minimum class assigned to your vehicle. The class assigned to your vehicle is based on the original tire and wheel size shown in your owner's manual. Using a different size tire may affect the chain's ability to operate properly. Some owner's manuals state that certain tire sizes do not provide enough clearnace to accommmodate winter traction products. The fact is, many of these vehicles can use SCC's Super Z6. Trying to measure the nearest obstruction under your vehicle could prove tricky.
